A feasibility analysis of the existing structures and proposed new construction of a 3-acre parcel located in the Historic District of East Main Street, Annville was completed with the goal of identifying potential redevelopment opportunities. Site investigation, research, documentation, design, evaluation, structural analysis, and a market study for retail and office space were all a part of this analysis.

A plan for the historic rehabilitation of the building’s exterior and interior to preserve Dillsburg’s oldest structure, as well as for its contemporary use as part house museum for tours and educational purposes, and part facility for the Northern York County Historical And Preservation Society (NYCHAPS) to hold meetings or host special events was presented in the report. Site investigation, research, documentation, design, and evaluation were all a part of this report.

St. Joseph’s Hospital

A plan for the historic restoration of the 1885 façade and the 1893 stone chapel, which included rebuilding of the spire on the original 1885 brick structure, was completed. With the entire site gerrymandered from the Penn’s Commons Historic District in Reading, the local preservation society, the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission, and the local government wanted to save the architectural integrity of the neighborhood. Site investigation, research, documentation, design, and evaluation were all a part of this report.

Eagles Mere General Store

Constructed in 1869 with numerous additions through the 1930’s, the building is a two-story wood frame structure with a walk-in basement. Preserving the past, the proposed plan called for the front of the building to appear unchanged. Site investigation, research, design, and evaluation were all a part of this report.

This report proposes to return the present day storefronts to their historic appearance, and to improve and beautify the existing streetscape. This effort hopes to encourage businesses and residents to celebrate Dillsburg’s history, create a main street pride, and entice others to the visit and patronize the shops, as surrounding communities become more developed.
